The Process
How HardSilk sculptures come into being
Vision
Every sculpture begins with understanding. The space it will inhabit. The quality of light available. The emotional resonance required. This phase involves deep consultation with collectors and site analysis to ensure perfect integration.
Armature
Steel frames are custom fabricated to support each unique form. The armature is both structural skeleton and artistic element - its geometry determines the sculpture's ultimate character and how light will interact with the final work.
Preparation
Silk undergoes proprietary treatment that enables its transformation. Color selection happens here - each hue is chosen not just for its immediate appearance but for how it will interact with light and neighboring colors once cured.
Formation
The silk is worked onto the armature with precise tension and flow. This is where the sculpture's personality emerges - organic forms that capture motion, frozen moments that will endure. Each fold, each curve is intentional.
Transformation
The curing process is where magic happens. Soft, draped fabric becomes rigid translucent membrane. The sculpture achieves its final state - permanently capturing light, eternally holding its form. What was ephemeral becomes eternal.
